BBS 105: Basic Christian Beliefs
Subtitle: Foundations of What Christians Believe
Course Description
Welcome to BBS 105! This course provides a clear and accessible introduction to the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith. If other courses focus on the story of the Bible, this course focuses on the core truths that the story teaches. We will explore the biblical basis for the essential beliefs that have united Christians for centuries. You will gain a solid understanding of what the Bible teaches about God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, Scripture, humanity, sin, salvation, and the Church. This course is designed to equip you with a firm foundation for your faith, enabling you to know what you believe, why you believe it, and how to articulate it to others.
Course Structure
This course is composed of five chapters, each focusing on a major area of Christian doctrine. Each chapter includes a detailed summary, five in-depth lessons, a chapter test, and an optional “Deep Dive” for further study. The course culminates in a final course test.
