OTBS 201: The Torah
Exploring the Five Books of Moses</u>
Course Description
Welcome to OTBS 201: The Torah! This course is a foundational exploration of the first five books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Known in Hebrew as the Torah (תּוֹרָה), meaning “instruction” or “law,” these books form the bedrock of all subsequent Scripture. We will trace the story from the creation of the universe to the eve of Israel’s entry into the Promised Land. You will encounter the foundational narratives of God’s people, the establishment of His covenants, the giving of the Law at Sinai, and the principles of holiness that were to define them. This study is absolutely essential for understanding God’s redemptive plan and the entire biblical narrative that unfolds from it.
Course Structure
This course is composed of five chapters, each dedicated to one of the five books of the Torah. Each chapter includes a detailed summary, five in-depth lessons, a chapter test, and an optional “Deep Dive” for further study. The course culminates in a final course test.
